Modern Gods Contest - It's Over

Thu Aug 7, 2008, 5:25 PM
We had 7 lovely entries and voting is finally over. I am so sorry I didn't close this contest before. But I wanna thank everyone who voted at the time. Congrats to the winner and runner ups! This theme was so funny!

:bulletgreen: Theme :bulletgreen:
Modern Age Gods
Design your own modern god or goddess. The ancients had gods for everything, so why not a god of automobiles or a goddess of planes or a goddess of technology or a god of computers or god of the skyscrapers or anything else you can think of! It's all your own choice. Make sure to give them a name and a description, so we know more about your god. You can make more than one if you like. But at least one modern god or goddess has to be clear in your image.

Featured deviation at the club
Your image will be the featured deviation till the next contest's winner is known!

All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you.
~J.R.R. Tolkien~
I vote ~Harakesh -- that is a chilling god of war. So anonymous and so overwhelmingly devastating. While the ancients conceived of the god of war as a warrior, this is the god of modern warfare -- so removed from life, so dark and mechanized that he makes me think of "friendly fire" and war as I've seen it in my life.

This is a powerful, intense piece.
